Review

🍁 No Longer Human is a masterpiece of modern Japanese literature and a haunting exploration of the human condition. It portrays the narrative of Oba Yozo, a guy who feels out of place in the world. He fails to connect with others and frequently hides behind jokes and lies because he is afraid of being his actual self.

🍂 The book appears as a diary, with Yozo sharing his thoughts and experiences from childhood to adulthood. He feels more and more lost, like he's becoming “No Longer Human.”

🌱 Even though the story is dark and emotional, the writing is simple and clear. The author shows what it feels like to be confused, afraid, and alone, in a very honest way. Many individuals find the book moving because it explores difficult-to-explain but very real emotions.

🌸 This book is not joyful or lighthearted. It is serious and sometimes painful to read. However, it is also incredibly honest and beautiful in its own way. It makes you reflect on life, identity, and how difficult it can be to be oneself.
